Having both operated cranes for a number of years and managed crane crews and cranes spanning across the United States, I can wholeheartedly attest to the fact that veterans will undoubtedly soar in the crane and rigging industry. When contemplating the workforce shortage in the crane and rigging industry recently, I realized that veterans, more than anyone, have cross-functional skillsets that pertain to the crane and rigging industry ethos and are exactly the type of individuals I personally look for when staffing crane crews, selecting supervisors and operators.
