The first LTM 1100-5.3 mobile crane has been added to the crane fleet of the northern German company Sönke Jordt Maschinen- und Schwertransport GmbH & CO. KG. After the LTM 1110-5.2, Liebherr has now delivered the second crane model with the new LICCON3 control to a customer. The crane’s compact design and high mobility due to flexible axle loads were the main reasons for the purchase.
Ehingen (Donau), (Germany), 2 April 2024 – Sönke Jordt Maschinen- und Schwertransport GmbH & CO. KG took delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 mobile crane equipped with the new LICCON3 crane control. Liebherr had unveiled this crane at Bauma 2022 – the first 5-axle crane that can be driven with a width of just 2.55 metres. “When we saw the crane at the trade fair, we knew that this new 100-tonn belongs in our crane fleet,” reports Tim Jordt, the company’s second-generation Managing Director.
In the northern German region in which the company operates, compactness plays an important role when it comes to road transport: “The mobile crane is narrow, light and characterized by low axle loads – and therefore ideal for our purposes.” The LTM 1100-5.3 can carry up to 16.9 tonnes of ballast with a twelve-tonne axle load on public roads, but can also be operated with an axle load of just nine tonnes by reducing the ballast.
Lightweight wonder in a new design
The crane lives up to its slogan “Master of all Roads” and its advantages became obvious as soon as the vehicle was transferred from Ehingen to Ratekau. As a result, Jordt benefits from simplified road regulations and both fuel and time savings, as fewer detours are necessary thanks to reduced bridge loads.
“Leading up to the handover, we were also very excited about the new design of the crane in our corporate colors. Whether it’s the paintwork, tyre pressures, remote control key, navigation system or LED lights – we are very impressed with our new addition,” adds Managing Director Sönke Jordt. With its new paintwork, new driver’s cab and crane operator’s cab, the LTM 1100-5.3 joins twelve other mobile cranes in the company’s fleet, all from Liebherr.

Sönke Jordt Maschinen- und Schwertransport GmbH & CO. KG has been relying on Liebherr cranes for twelve years. In addition to traditional crane hire and assembly and dismantling work in the industrial sector, Jordt also offers towing and transport services as well as its own workshop service.
